Welcome to Pure Feather Aviary. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and any enquiries, reservations, or purchases made through it. By accessing our website or engaging with our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

1. About Us

Pure Feather Aviary is a UK-based parrot breeding and rehoming aviary dedicated to ethical breeding, responsible ownership, and the welfare of every bird in our care. We provide captive-bred parrots and guidance to help suitable homes offer long-term, stable environments.

2. Eligibility

By using our website or making a reservation, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age.
  • You are legally permitted to own a parrot in your location.
  • You understand the long-term responsibility, cost, and commitment involved in parrot ownership.

3. Availability & Listings

All parrots and information displayed on our website:

  • Are subject to prior sale or reservation.
  • May be updated, changed, or removed without prior notice.
  • Are described to the best of our knowledge at the time of listing.

Availability is not guaranteed until a reservation is confirmed in writing by Pure Feather Aviary.

4. Reservations & Deposits

To reserve a parrot, we may require a reservation deposit. This deposit:

  • Confirms your intent to purchase a specific bird.
  • Is deducted from the final purchase price.
  • Is not a transfer of ownership until full payment is completed and collection/delivery takes place.

Deposit Refunds if You Change Your Mind
If you change your mind after placing a reservation deposit and decide not to proceed with the purchase, the deposit is refundable, provided that:

  • You notify us in writing (e.g. email or message) before the agreed collection or delivery date.
  • The bird has not already been collected, delivered, or rehomed to you.

Refunds will usually be processed using the original payment method, minus any non-recoverable transaction or banking fees charged by the payment provider.

5. Payments

We accept secure payment methods as advised at the time of purchase. Unless otherwise stated:

  • Full payment must be received before collection or delivery.
  • All prices are listed in GBP (£).
  • Any additional costs (such as delivery or transport) will be clearly communicated before confirmation.

6. Collection & Delivery

Collection and delivery are arranged to prioritise the welfare of each bird:

  • Collection is strictly by pre-arranged appointment.
  • UK-wide delivery may be available via professional, licensed animal transport where appropriate.
  • Any delivery fees will be agreed in advance.
  • Responsibility and risk transfer to the buyer upon handover at collection or delivery.

7. Health & Welfare Guarantee

Each parrot leaving Pure Feather Aviary:

  • Is captive-bred and reared with care.
  • Is observed and health-checked to the best of our ability before leaving.
  • Is released in a stable condition based on our observations at the time.

However, buyers acknowledge and accept that:

  • Parrots are live animals and may react to new environments, diets, and routines.
  • No breeder can guarantee future health, temperament, behaviour, or lifespan.
  • Ongoing veterinary care and welfare are the responsibility of the buyer from the moment of collection/delivery.

8. Returns & Refunds (Live Animals)

Due to the nature of live animals and to protect their welfare:

  • We do not generally accept returns once a parrot has been collected or delivered.
  • In exceptional circumstances, and only where permitted by UK law, we may review a case at our discretion.
  • Any serious health concerns must be supported by a written report from a qualified avian veterinarian within a short time-frame of collection (e.g. 48 hours).

Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you may have under UK consumer law.

9. Buyer Responsibilities

By purchasing a parrot from Pure Feather Aviary, you agree to:

  • Provide suitable accommodation, enrichment, nutrition, and veterinary care.
  • Comply with all applicable UK animal welfare regulations and local laws.
  • Ensure all members of the household understand the needs and noise levels of parrots.
  • Contact us if you can no longer care for the bird, so that responsible options can be discussed.

10. Right to Refuse or Cancel a Sale

We reserve the right to refuse a sale or cancel a reservation if we believe:

  • The bird’s welfare may be at risk.
  • Information provided by the buyer is misleading or incomplete.
  • There is evidence of irresponsible ownership or unsuitable living conditions.

If we cancel a sale before the bird leaves our care, any payments made (including deposits) will normally be refunded, unless otherwise required or restricted by law.
